What Does a WaterSense Label Mean?

As we realize that our resources aren’t infinite, and that we damage our world with wasteful use, there are more and more initiatives to reduce our impact on our planet. One of those initiatives is WaterSense and it is program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. WaterSense is solely aimed at reducing water consumption in our homes, places of work, and any other place water might be used. To do this, manufacturers that participate in this program must be registered as a WaterSense Partner, have qualified products be certified to meet WaterSense efficiency standards. Once those conditions are met, the qualified products may don the WaterSense Label, which identifies them as accredited water saving products.

Having the WaterSense Label ensures that you’re getting what is advertised, and that it is helping you do your part in saving our planet. It can also tie together with other environmental programs such as LEED, which can offer financial benefits on top of savings from reduced water use!
